Issue:

Steve Jobs wants to charge you $4.00 for the privilege of copying from one DVD to another. This ability to copy would be sold to you as a "premium" DVD that would include an extra fee for the privilege of transferring your legally-purchased DVD to a different device. 

Belief:

The courts have held that "space-shifting" your CDs to a portable music device is fair use.  So you can LEGALLY import your CD collection to your iPod, or other device, for free.
