Description:

We, the undersigned voters, are against the Mid-Atlantic National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor!

Last October, the gov't established the Mid-Atlantic National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor which would open up large parts of the East Coast for high-voltage electric transmission lines which were not approved through the state public utility commission.

Land in the corridor - whether it is private property, parks or conserved - could be subject to federal powers of eminent domain for these high-voltage lines.

Join the Brandywine Conservancy, the Natural Lands Trust and the Pennsylvania Land Trust, NWF and the Sierra Club to fight the Department of Energy on this.  Sign our Petition.

See Map of area affected.

Why don't you want to end up without power? It's not that bad you've just been pampered and grown used to such commodities. Which is okay...we all have. If you want to be comfortable in the future and for your children to be comfortable sometimes you have to give a little. And we don't NEED a stove or lights or heat or cooled air. Fires work fine extra clothes do too! I don't want to live like that either but people you NEED to realize is we have to start conserving and reducing our consumption. If your not willing to do that you don't deserve to live on this planet. It would be one thing if they would build responsibly and "green" as everyone likes to call it. It also be another issue if the electricity would be provide by 100% clean energy.

Whether the land is private, parks, or conserved. They should and need to be subjected to federal powers of iminent domain for these high-voltage lines. The Department of Energy cannot keep up. I for 1 do not wish to live life in the old west. We need to keep up with are growing population. We all need light, heat, cooled air, and a nice working stove to take care of and feed our families. If this means more High-Voltage lines, so be it. Just my beliefs.

I tend to agree with Veronica, this is a tough one. Do we start having power outages by not agreeing to this? I'd really have to look into this more. Considering I'll be living in the area, I sure don't want to end up without power!
