Description:

Studies are now showing that many kids are having a hard time learning in school, and that once they get into college they can struggle more even if they excelled in school before. This is due to the fact that are kids are not learning the fundamentals. Instead teachers are having to teach kids only the things that will be on state tests. States do this so that they can determine how much money each school should get. It's time to put an end to this, so are kids can learn what they need. Even if you don't have kids yet sign this to start the change now, so when your kids get to school they won' t get an education they don't need.

I agree. Teachers are having to focus on children learning what will be on the state tests instead of what children really need to be learning. It's not right that if the children do not do well on the tests, it looks bad on the teacher.

I SO AGREE THAT OUR KIDS ARE NOT GETTING THE RIGHT KIND OF EDUCATION. I work at school,and I can tell you for sure our children are only learning what is on the state test. It is pushed on our kids all year. When i was in school we did not have these kinds of test.

We need to push science and language. All american children should be bilingual and preferably multi-lingual as many many in other competing countries are.

they are only teaching the children to pass the end of year test -- i homeschool and there is a big difference we can actually teach and not have to deal with all the distractions- i also have one that graduated public school so yes i do know the difference

I used to help children who were falling behind with their reading skills. Had more than we could handle. Teachers said it was the mandated curriculum causing it. They could not go back and help those who did not pick it up the first time. So parents need to get tutors to catch them up.
