Official Moonlight Blood Drive

Dear Mr. Moonves and Ms. Tassler;

I am the sponsor of The Official Moonlight Blood Drive which took place back in April.
You may be interested to know that we collected 3,165 pints of blood over thirty states during those five days – for Moonlight! Since each pint of blood has the potential to save 3 lives; Moonlight was directly responsible for saving 9,500 lives!

On the other hand, Jericho fans mailed CBS 20 tons of peanuts! I have no wish to detract from a very well organized and executed campaign on the part of Jericho fans, however , when you look at the charitable efforts of Moonlight fans ( blood donations, bone marrow testing, donations to The Greater Los Angeles Food Bank, and cash donations, in the triple digits, designated to The L.A. County Chapter of the American Red Cross), I am at a loss as to the logic of opting to reward the Jericho fans with a second season for doing wonders for the peanut crop revenue and donating to a single small town in Kansas where the show was filmed; while denying Moonlight fans, who’s efforts had life saving potential across the entire country, the same courtesy? I might also add that Jericho fans were granted access to the show’s cast – which must have resulted in a huge boost in morale, while we were, in effect, handicapped by CBS by their reluctance to allow Moonlight cast members the same opportunity for photo ops or appearances with the fans during our campaigns…

Jericho fans did not take advantage of their “second chance” by retaining or increasing viewership; however, you may be interested to know that – despite Moonlight being cancelled - we have joined with Alex O’Loughlin to sponsor a whole new series of blood drives to be held over the summer and during the entire month of September!
Moonlight fans are still committed to, and proud of, the contribution we have made to communities all across the nation – yet the community that gained the most from our blood drives was located in CBS’s own backyard – the greater Los Angeles area...

Just because the blood drives did not result in CBS having something tangible coming through your door and taking up space in your offices; the blood donations had a much greater impact because the very blood of Moonlight’s fans was given to save lives!

Not only did Moonlight fans never receive a letter praising our efforts from Nina Tassler or anyone else at CBS, we were rewarded by having our show cancelled!
Here is a copy of Ms. Tassler’s letter to Jericho fans announcing that CBS would be granting Jericho a “stay of execution”:

To the Fans of Jericho:
Wow!
Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.
As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of "Jericho" for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more "Jericho," we will need more viewers.
A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.
We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.
At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that "Jericho" will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting "Jericho" on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.

I just don´t understand one thing!
If they don´t have any sure if the show will back for the second season, why did they in the last three episodes give us so many material to go on thought!

Moonlight needs to come back. I watched every Friday night and then it was gone....? Are you kidding me, why? There are so many fans, obviously, CBS needs to re-think this decision. Mick St.John is the best looking man on TV.

Moonlight is a great show and such a mistake to cancel! The people who canceled it probably never even saw an episode otherwise it would still be on now!

I want to see moonlight brought back on Friday nights. It was the highlight of my week. I know that sounds sad for that to be the highlight but it really was. Please bring it back.

Moonlight is a great show! They can't just cancel it! We need variety, for crying out loud! I'm honestly sick of forensics, doctors and law firms' shows, stupid teenage drama series and stuff like that. Fiction is a great genre for TV and we need more of it. Plus, the script and the characters are great, I mean, with such a babe like Alex O'Loughlin, we girls should be hating Beth but we love her! Bring Moonlight back!

PLease bring back Moonlight. It was very well written and acted. There is a fan base for this show if given the chance. My husband and I are in our sixties and grew up on the best of horror movies, and we lovvvvve this show. Give it a chance. Thank You

Moonlight clearly deserves several more seasons. I would like to see it back for 2-4 more years. I don't want to watch it peter out and die one of those horrible TV deaths, so I'd like it be done with a set end date, as Lost is now, at which point all of the lose ends will be wrapped up.

this show has quickly become my favorite, even over heroes...as word gets out it will get more popular...the reviews and ratings are great, the advertising was not, dont punish a great show and a loyal fanbase for poor advertising!

I love Alex O'Loughlin. I just watched "August Rush" and kept thinking that I recognized "Marshall" but couldn't remember from where. I looked up the movie on imdb.com and found that it was Alex (just with short hair). I can't tell you how much I enjoyed "Moonlight" and how much I miss it - bring it back, PLEASE!!! I'd love to see Moonlight movies, too. Moonlight is TOO GOOD to have been cancelled. Bring it, and Alex, back to TV and the theatre! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

Moonlight gave us a basic story line that guaranteed many exciting seasons to come. Come on CBS you gave us this wonderful show and then ripped it away. Moonlight is high quality television. I miss the excitement of watching Moonlight.

CBS IS THE DAMBEST TV COMPANY EVER. WHY WOULD YOU CANCEL MOONLIGHT IF YOU NEVER GAVE IT A CHANCE IN THE FIRST PLACE. THEY CW GAVE THERE SHOWS A CHANCE TO BRING IN VIEWERS SO WHY CAN CBS DO THE SAME.
