Description:

If you have ever misheard a song or poem and come up with your own version of the words, you are already familiar with the "mondegreen," defined as a word or phrase that results from a mishearing of something said or sung.  From "The ants are my friends," a mangling of "The answer, my friends," by Bob Dylan, to my favorite "There's a bathroom on the right," a bungling of "There's a bad moon on the rise," by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

So do you use mondegreens? If yes, put yours below so we can all enjoy your interpretation and maybe help you with the words.

"I can't light no more Augie Dogness" in Elton John's "Don't let the sun go down on me". I knew it wasn't right, but I couldn't understand when he said "I can't light no more of your darkness." I still sing it that way and my wife laughs at me.

When I was young (Yeah oh sooo long ago) I was sure it was 'scuse me, while I kiss this guy... but that left me wondering what was up with Jimi Hendrix.

The song was 'wonderwall' but i keep hearing 'wonder bra'.

Do the lucky lady.
Actual lyric:Dude looks like a lady.

"I've seen all good people turn their heads each day so satisfied I'm on my way"

I have no idea if they are the right words but that is what I am singing in my car to Yes' song "Your Move". Am I really using a mondegreen?
